The third Wing Tulip Latte Art Competition by % Arabica Manila returned on a larger scale last March 27, 2026, co-presented with MILKLAB. Held at the BGC Roastery, the event brought together over 50 baristas, with 32 competition slots filled in under two hours—highlighting strong anticipation from the local coffee community.
Centered on the iconic Wing Tulip design, the competition served as a true test of control, consistency, and technique. Each participant demonstrated precision and creativity, reinforcing the growing standard of craftsmanship within the Philippine coffee scene. Supporting every pour were cartons of MILKLAB Almond and Dairy milk, ensuring consistency in texture and performance throughout the competition.
Beyond the technical challenge, the event reflected a shared commitment among industry players to elevate coffee culture in the Philippines. With the support of key partners, the competition created a platform for both emerging and experienced baristas to showcase their skills.
At the end of the competition, Loid Springael, John Erick V. Aclan, Julius Ernest Espina, and Anthony John Calugay emerged as the top four baristas. They were awarded special prizes from partners Curve Coffee and Hogsmith, recognizing their excellence in both technique and artistry.
Cash prizes were also awarded, with ₱30,000 given to the champion, ₱10,000 to the runner-up, and ₱7,000 and ₱1,000 distributed among the succeeding finalists.
The Wing Tulip Latte Art Competition continues to grow as a key platform for barista skill development, community building, and the celebration of coffee craftsmanship.
